ABOUT THIS SCHEME

What is the NTUC Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)?

UTAP is a training benefit for NTUC union members in Singapore. After completing a UTAP-eligible course, you can claim 50% of your remaining course fees (after SSG and other subsidies) from NTUC, up to your annual cap. From 1 May 2026, 50% of AI tool subscription costs also count toward your annual UTAP claim. Your membership must be active at both enrolment and claim submission. UTAP is a reimbursement, not an upfront discount.

NTUC members who complete a UTAP-approved AI course can claim 50% back on 21 approved AI tools, from ChatGPT and Claude to Canva and GitHub Copilot.

Subscription must start between 1 May 2026 and 30 April 2028. Subscriptions that started earlier aren't eligible, even if still active.

Who can use NTUC UTAP, and how to claim it

Claim 50% of your remaining course fees after your course. Must be an active NTUC union member at both enrolment and claim.

You're eligible if you

  • Are an active NTUC union member
  • Membership is active at both enrolment and claim submission
  • Enrolling in a UTAP-eligible Heicoders course
  • Have remaining UTAP balance this calendar year

Is UTAP an upfront discount?Collapse

No. UTAP is a reimbursement scheme. You pay your course fees first, complete the course, and then submit a claim to NTUC for reimbursement. The same applies to AI tool subscriptions; you subscribe and pay first, then claim back 50% within 6 months. Note that only courses specifically listed on NTUC's website are eligible for UTAP, not all courses from approved training providers automatically qualify.
